Milk Bar

Christina Tosi opened the first Milk Bar in New York's East Village in 2008. A James Beard award-winning pastry chef, she combines formal training with a fascination for grocery-store ingredients and home baking traditions, resulting in creations like the Compost Cookie, layer cakes with unfrosted sides, and a gooey signature pie.

The shop has since earned national attention, including a profile on Netflix's Chef's Table and a nod from Bon Appetit as one of the country's most exciting bakeries. Tosi has also authored cookbooks, including one dedicated entirely to cookies that includes more than a hundred recipes. Beyond its original Manhattan location, Milk Bar now ships its treats nationwide and partners with charities that support homeless populations, children with cancer, and LGBTQ youth.
