About GiftsFeed

GiftsFeed is a shopping site for the moment you know roughly who you are buying for and have no idea what to get them. It is built around a simple idea: most gift guides are assembled from whatever paid the most, and you can tell. This one is assembled from independent brands, and every page says plainly why the thing is on it.

Who makes it

GiftsFeed is written and edited by Jeff Hill, who chooses the categories, sets the standard a product has to meet, and reviews the guides before they go live. If a pick on this site is wrong, it is a person's fault and not an algorithm's.

How something gets listed

We ingest catalogs from independent merchants, most of them small US brands running their own stores. Product descriptions are drafted from each merchant's published specifications and then held to a quality standard before publication: a page that only restates marketing copy does not go live. We do not claim to have tested things we have not tested, and no product page on this site is written as a review.

How it is paid for

GiftsFeed may earn a commission when you buy through one of our links, and that is the only way the site is intended to make money. It does not change your price, and it does not buy a place in a guide. Merchants cannot pay to be listed or to rank higher, and the disclosure is on every page rather than buried here.

Reviews

Star ratings come only from people who bought through GiftsFeed and can be verified. We show reviews from a merchant's own store when they authorize it, labelled as theirs, and never folded into our rating. The review policy explains the line and why we hold it.
