How we pick
GiftsFeed lists products from independent merchants. Every product here comes from a store we read directly, and the price, stock, and photos on a product page are the merchant's own, refreshed on a schedule rather than typed in by us.
What gets listed
We start from the merchant, not the product. A store has to sell its own range rather than resell someone else's catalog, and it has to publish enough about what it sells that we can write about it without guessing. From there, a product is listed when it is a retail item somebody could plausibly want: we drop wholesale case packs, gift cards, samples, and shipping-protection add-ons, and we collapse the seven colours of one shoe into one page rather than listing them as seven separate gifts.
What we have not done
We have not tested these products. We do not have them, we have not measured them, and no page here will claim otherwise. What we write is drawn from what the merchant published, and where we argue for a product the argument is about who it suits and what the ordinary version of it gets wrong — not about a test we did not run.
Every product page also carries at least one honest reason to pass. A page that cannot name one is an advertisement.
What decides the order
The feed is ranked by boosts: readers saving a product, weighted so recent interest counts for more than a total accumulated over a year. Purchases count too. Nothing in that ranking is for sale, and a merchant cannot pay for a position in it.
A boost is a popularity signal, not a verdict. It tells you what other people shopping here found worth keeping, which is genuinely useful and is not the same thing as a recommendation.
How guides are chosen
Guides are assembled from products already in the catalog, chosen for one specific search rather than as a general list. A product that only fits because it happened to be available is the thing that makes a roundup worthless, so a guide with eight well-matched picks is better than one with twelve where four are padding. We cap how many picks can come from any one merchant for the same reason.
Reviews
The only star rating we publish is calculated from people who bought through GiftsFeed and whose order we can prove. Where a merchant runs their own reviews, we show those separately, attributed to them, and they never count toward our rating. Most products will sit with no rating for a while, and that is the correct answer rather than a gap.
