Why it's on GiftsFeed
Anniversary-Edition Folding Knife with Crystallized Titanium and M390 Steel
Most folding knives offer one or two ways to open the blade, and most premium models use anodized titanium that looks consistent across every unit. This one gives you four distinct deployment methods and a handle finish that forms during a thermal transformation, so the pattern you receive will not match anyone else's.
The Vanchor Lock sits behind the blade rather than to the side, which means you can actuate it without shifting your grip, and the multiple opening methods let you adapt to different carry positions and tasks without fumbling. If you want a limited-edition folder that solves real carry problems instead of just looking rare, the combination of deployment flexibility and one-of-a-kind materials justifies the collector premium.
Good gift when
- Knife collectors who value limited runs and maker-signed documentation
- People who carry a folder daily and want deployment flexibility
- Anyone drawn to the irregular grain patterns in heat-treated titanium
- Owners who appreciate precision machining and premium blade steels
Skip it if The numbered edition and crystallized finish push the price well above everyday folding knives, so if you plan to use it hard in conditions that will scratch and wear the handle, a production model with replaceable scales makes more sense.

The details
This fourth-anniversary edition folding knife begins with solid titanium heated to 992°C and rapidly cooled to form an irregular crystalline grain pattern. The material is then machined, polished, and anodized to develop blue and silver tones that emerge from within the metal itself. Because the pattern forms during the thermal cycle rather than as a surface treatment, no two handles match.
The 3.46-inch blade is ground from M390 stainless steel, a powder-metallurgy alloy that holds an edge longer than most conventional steels while resisting corrosion. A compound grind keeps the tip stable during piercing tasks and thins the edge for efficient slicing through fibrous materials. The blade surface combines satin and bead-blasted finishes to define the geometry and complement the cooler tones of the handle.
Four opening methods give you options depending on grip and context. A front flipper sits flush with the handle when closed, a rear flipper extends slightly for thumb or finger actuation, a thumb hole allows one-handed deployment without changing your grip, and a blade-flick method works when you press the lock button and snap the knife open with wrist motion. The Vanchor Lock secures the blade when open and releases cleanly when you press the button.
The pocket clip is titanium, reversible for tip-up or tip-down carry. The backspacer extends slightly beyond the handle scales to form a lanyard attachment point and carries Morse code for the letter V, a reference to the lock mechanism. Each knife is laser-engraved with an individual number from 001 to 100 and includes a signed identification card, an anniversary coin, and engravings on the liner.

Questions
- How is the crystallized titanium pattern created?
- The titanium is heated to approximately 992°C and then rapidly cooled. This thermal cycle causes crystalline grains to form within the metal structure. After cooling, the material is machined, polished, and anodized to reveal blue and silver tones. Because the pattern develops during the heating and cooling process rather than as a coating, each handle will have a unique appearance.
- What makes M390 blade steel a good choice for a folding knife?
- M390 is a powder-metallurgy stainless steel that balances three qualities: it holds an edge longer than most conventional steels, it resists chipping and rolling during hard use, and it resists rust and corrosion even in humid or wet conditions. This combination makes it well-suited for a folder you carry daily without frequent resharpening.
- Can I use all four opening methods interchangeably?
- Yes. The front flipper, rear flipper, thumb hole, and blade-flick methods all work independently, so you can choose whichever suits your grip, carry position, or preference in the moment. The Vanchor Lock engages the same way regardless of which deployment method you use.
- Is the pocket clip reversible for left-handed carry?
- The titanium pocket clip is reversible and can be configured for tip-up or tip-down carry. This allows you to adjust the orientation based on your hand preference and how you prefer to draw the knife from your pocket.
- What is included with the anniversary edition?
- Each knife is individually numbered from 001 to 100 and laser-engraved on the liner with anniversary markings. The package includes a fourth-anniversary coin and an identification card personally signed by designer Yue. The knife itself features engravings on the liner and a titanium backspacer with Morse code for the letter V.
