The details
This sham layers hand-screen-printed cotton panels in a pattern vocabulary borrowed from mid-century academic menswear. Each piece is assembled by hand with visible stitching that holds the panels in place and gives every sham slight variation in how the blocks meet and align.
The construction uses cotton batting between the outer fabric and lining, adding body and a quilted texture that shows the hand-stitched seams. An invisible zipper runs along one edge, keeping the closure out of sight when the sham is positioned on the bed.
The pattern draws from the same design language as the Albright Quilt, inspired by details from a Smith College residence hall. Stripes, checks, and solid blocks combine in arrangements that recall vintage neckties and blazer linings. Because the fabrics are screen-printed and the panels are positioned by hand, no two shams match exactly.
