Reusable swabs, tissues, and cotton rounds designed in Copenhagen to last a lifetime

LastObject was founded in Copenhagen in 2019 by three designers: Isabel Aagaard, who spent years creating medical products before earning her master's in collaborative design from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts; her brother Nicolas, who studied furniture design at the same academy and economics at Copenhagen Business School; and Kåre Frandsen, a trained cabinetmaker who also studied furniture design at Danmarks Designskole. They launched their first product, LastSwab, on Kickstarter with a funding goal reached in twenty-two minutes and went on to raise over seven hundred thousand dollars from nearly twenty thousand backers.

The company designs reusable alternatives to everyday disposable items and publishes independent ISO-certified life cycle assessments for each product. Their cotton swab, tissue, and cotton round replacements are made to withstand over a thousand uses. They hold B Corporation certification and use GOTS-certified organic cotton for eighty-five percent of their textile products, FSC-certified packaging, and recycled ocean-bound plastic in some designs.
