Why it's on GiftsFeed
Waterproof Dyneema stuff sack with a zipper that actually opens wide
Most stuff sacks are just waterproof tubes with a drawcord—you dump things in, cinch it shut, and hope you remember which sack has your headlamp when the sun goes down. The Zippy opens wide with a zipper that runs most of the way around the perimeter, so you can lay it flat and see every item at once. That matters when you're digging for a lighter at dusk or repacking in a hurry before a storm. The waterproof zipper costs a few grams over a roll-top, but it saves the time you'd spend emptying three sacks to find one thing.
Good gift when
- Backpackers who are tired of fishing around in dark stuff sacks
- Bikepackers who need waterproof organization in frame bags
- Anyone who wants to see all their small gear at a glance
- People who pack and repack frequently on multi-day trips
Skip it if You prefer roll-top closures that weigh a few grams less and have no zipper to snag or fail over years of hard use

The details
Most stuff sacks make you fish around in a dark tube for your headlamp or fumble with a drawcord when your hands are cold. This one opens flat with a waterproof zipper, so you can see everything inside at once and grab what you need without unpacking the rest.
The fabric is Dyneema Composite, the same material used in ultralight shelter floors and dry bags. It stops water completely, tears only if you try to make it tear, and weighs almost nothing. The zipper is waterproof too, so rain, splashes, and condensation stay outside even when the sack is riding in the top of your pack or strapped to the outside of a bikepacking setup.
Three sizes let you match the sack to what you're carrying. The 1L works for a USB battery, cables, and a small repair kit. The 2L holds a water filter, cook kit accessories, or a full toiletry setup. The 3L fits bulkier items like a puffy jacket, ski skins, or a stove and fuel canister together. All three pack down flat when empty and stay rigid enough when full that you can stand them upright in a pack pocket or pannier.
Because the zipper runs most of the way around the perimeter, the sack opens like a clamshell instead of a slot. That means you can lay it flat on the ground, see every item at once, and repack without playing Tetris in the dark. The zipper pull is large enough to grab with gloves on, and the fabric has enough grip that the sack won't slide out of your lap when you're sitting on a log at camp.
Available in 1L, 2L, and 3L sizes for filters, cables, first aid, and all the small things that disappear into pack chaos

Questions
- Is the Dyneema fabric actually waterproof or just water-resistant?
- The Dyneema Composite Fabric is fully waterproof, not just water-resistant. Combined with the waterproof zipper, the sack keeps contents dry even in sustained rain or when submerged briefly.
- Which size should I get for a water filter and purification tablets?
- The 1L works for a compact squeeze filter and tablets. If you carry a gravity filter with hoses and a dirty water bag, the 2L gives you room for everything together.
- Can I see what's inside without opening the zipper?
- No, the Dyneema fabric is opaque. You need to open the zipper to see contents, but the wide opening lets you view everything at once rather than fishing through a narrow tube.
- Does the zipper ever leak or fail in cold weather?
- Waterproof zippers are reliable when kept clean, but any zipper can fail if dirt or sand gets in the teeth. The zipper pull is large enough to operate with gloves on in cold conditions.
- Will the Dyneema fabric tear if it snags on a branch?
- Dyneema Composite Fabric resists tearing and punctures far better than silnylon or coated fabrics. It can be cut or abraded with sustained friction, but casual snags won't damage it.
