Why it's on GiftsFeed
Organic selvedge denim trucker built for years of wear and fade
Most denim jackets today are cut from ten or eleven ounces of fabric and treated to look worn before you buy them. This one starts with fourteen-ounce selvedge and undyed indigo yarns, so the fading happens as you live in it. The reinforcement stitching and metal hardware mean the structure outlasts the novelty, and the pocket layout—chest storage, hand warmers, and interior waist slots—covers what you actually carry day to day. It is built for people who want one good jacket instead of several okay ones.
Good gift when
- People who wear the same jacket until it becomes theirs

The details
This trucker jacket is cut from fourteen-ounce organic cotton selvedge denim that will break in rather than break down. The indigo yarns fade with wear, so the jacket develops character instead of looking tired.
You get two rounded patch pockets on the chest—the left one includes a pen sleeve—plus front welt hand-warmer pockets and two interior pockets at waist height. That combination means you can carry what you need without loading everything into your pants.
Zig-zag reinforcement stitching runs along the underside of the collar and down the front placket, targeting the stress points that fail first on lighter builds. Tack buttons and rivets hold closures and pocket corners. The pocketing is six-ounce organic cotton printed with a San Francisco map motif.
Wash cold and tumble dry low. The denim will soften and the indigo will shift toward lighter blues and whites where the fabric creases and rubs. Made in Vietnam.

Questions
- How does selvedge denim fade compared to regular denim?
- Selvedge denim is woven on shuttle looms with continuous yarns that create a self-finished edge. The indigo dye sits on the surface of the yarns rather than saturating them, so as you wear and wash the jacket the color rubs away at stress points—elbows, seams, pocket edges—revealing lighter blues and whites underneath. The fading is gradual and specific to how you move and use the jacket, creating a worn pattern unique to you.
- Will this jacket stretch or shrink after washing?
- Fourteen-ounce cotton denim will relax slightly with wear and may shrink a small amount in the first few washes if you use hot water or high heat. Washing cold and tumbling dry on low minimizes shrinkage and keeps the fit consistent. The fabric will soften over time without losing its structure.
- What does organic cotton mean for this jacket?
- Organic cotton is grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers and processed without harsh chemicals. For a heavyweight denim jacket you will wear for years, organic certification means the fiber production had a lighter environmental footprint. The fabric performs the same as conventional cotton selvedge but comes from better-managed soil and water systems.
- How should this jacket fit compared to a regular denim jacket?
- Trucker-style denim jackets are typically cut to sit at the waist with enough room in the shoulders and chest to layer over a shirt or light sweater. The fourteen-ounce weight gives this one more structure than thinner denim, so it will hold its shape rather than drape. If you plan to layer heavily underneath, consider sizing up; if you want a closer fit, stick to your usual size.
