Spice Surprise

You choose the size—single jar or three-jar bundle—and Burlap & Barrel sends whichever spice they pick. Every jar in the pool is a full-sized container from their catalog of single-origin seasonings, chosen at random when your order ships.

The selection is genuinely unknown until you open the package. Burlap & Barrel attempts to avoid sending duplicates if you already have spices in your order or have bought mystery spices before, but repeats are possible. There are no returns or exchanges, so you commit to keeping whatever arrives.

Each jar contains a spice sourced directly from a farming partner in one region, not a blend. You might receive a Turkish oregano, an Indonesian cinnamon, a Persian cumin, or any other seasoning from their rotating inventory. The jar includes origin details and suggested uses printed on the label, the same information that comes with every Burlap & Barrel spice.

This works best if you cook often enough to use new seasonings before they lose potency and if you are willing to experiment with unfamiliar ingredients. The value is in discovering something you would not have ordered yourself, and the risk is ending up with a spice that does not match how you actually cook.
