Second Chance | No.02 Stainless Steel Pocket Knife

This is Opinel's smallest production folding knife, and it earns that title by a clear margin. At under two inches when closed, the No.02 fits on a keychain without adding bulk, slips into a coin pocket, or tucks into a travel kit where a full-sized blade would never fit. The stainless steel blade handles precise work like opening envelopes, cutting thread, or trimming paper tags—tasks where you need an edge but not leverage.

The folding mechanism is simple and deliberate. No spring, no lock—just a carbon steel pivot that holds the blade open through friction. Because of its miniature dimensions, this model does not include the Virobloc safety ring found on larger Opinel knives. You open it, you close it, and the small size makes it easy to control during use.

Available in beechwood or colored resin handles, with or without a keychain attachment. The beechwood version offers the classic Opinel look, while the colored handles—Emerald, Tomate, Sky Blue, and Anise—add visibility in a bag or drawer. The keychain option threads through the handle, turning the knife into something you can clip to a carabiner or key ring without needing a separate sheath.

This knife comes from Opinel's Second Chance program. Each piece has been inspected and is fully functional, with Opinel's limited lifetime warranty intact. Minor cosmetic imperfections may be present, and packaging may be absent or damaged. These are working tools, sold at a reduced price because they didn't meet the standard for pristine retail presentation.
