Onyx Coffee Lab

Onyx Coffee Lab started in 2012 in Northwest Arkansas as a specialty roastery and has since grown into a network of cafes, wholesale partnerships, and direct-to-consumer sales. The company publishes pricing and trade data for each coffee they offer, showing what they paid for it, the cupping score, and the producer's name directly on the product page.

Their staff has consistently placed at national and world coffee championships. Barista Andrea Allen won the 2020 U.S. Barista Championship and placed second at the 2020 World Barista Championship. Brewer Elika Liftee won the U.S. Brewers Cup twice, in 2019 and 2021, and placed second at the 2021 World Brewers Cup. Roaster Mark Michaelson won the 2017 U.S. Roaster Championship. The company trains its cafe staff and wholesale partners through hands-on classes in its training lab, covering everything from farming to cupping to preparation.
