Tecovas

Western boots handmade in over 200 steps with traditional Mexican leatherwork

Austin, Texas

Paul Hedrick founded the company in 2015 after recognizing that the Western footwear industry had become difficult to navigate for newcomers. He started by selling boots from his trunk at farmers' markets, local fairs, and community events, building the business one conversation at a time. The operation soon moved to Austin's east side, where all Tecovas products are still designed today.

Each boot is handmade through more than 200 steps. The company's dress boots are crafted in León, Mexico, where traditional leatherworking techniques have been passed down through generations. Every pair uses a tri-layer insole with an enclosed shank for support and hand-selected premium leathers chosen for grain quality and character. The brand has grown from a solo venture to over 1,400 employees and operates more than 50 retail locations across the country.
