Ruffwear

Ruffwear works with their primary manufacturing partner, Shilla, to produce harnesses, leashes, and collars with lead times as short as thirty days from order to shipment. This approach lets them build only what customers actually need rather than stockpiling inventory. They eliminated all intentionally added PFAS chemicals from their manufacturing by January 2024 and now use the Higg Product Tools to measure the environmental impact of each design, ensuring new versions perform better than the products they replace.

The company sources natural rubber for their toys and increasingly relies on bluesign-approved materials from suppliers that meet strict standards for worker safety and environmental impact. Two of their key webbing suppliers earned bluesign certification in recent years. Their Paw It Forward program donated fifty thousand dollars in 2023 to organizations working on land conservation, dog adoption, working dogs, and diversity initiatives, with recipients nominated and selected by Ruffwear employees and ambassadors.
