Ministry of Supply grew out of research into performance materials done at MIT. The founders left engineering roles at companies including SpaceX to build garments that bring technical innovation to everyday workwear. They test fabrics originally developed for aerospace and athletics, adapting them for blazers, dress shirts, and trousers meant to move through an office day.

The brand operates its own factory in Boston, where they prototype designs and experiment with production methods. This setup lets them run small batches to refine fits and test new fabric blends before scaling. Their catalog spans tailored pieces and casual staples, all engineered around stretch, temperature regulation, and wrinkle resistance rather than traditional suiting convention.
