Hedley & Bennett

Hedley & Bennett began in 2012 when founder Ellen Bennett, working in a restaurant kitchen, set out to make an apron that performed better and looked sharper than anything else available. She developed the first designs alongside chefs, refining every pocket, strap, and stitch until the gear met professional standards. The resulting aprons gained traction in Los Angeles kitchens and caught the attention of The New York Times Magazine, which noted that many of the city's best restaurants had cooks wearing Hedley & Bennett.

The company manufactures its aprons in downtown Los Angeles, where thirteen pairs of hands touch each piece during production. Beyond aprons, they now make knives, kitchen tools, and other gear built to the same specifications. Their customer base spans professional chefs and home cooks, all drawn to equipment designed for heavy use and built to last through countless washes.
