Buffy

Buffy makes bedding from recycled and plant-based materials. The brand fills its Cloud Comforter with insulation made from recycled plastic bottles, diverting waste from landfills. Its signature fabric is a lyocell derived from eucalyptus and other wood pulp, which the company reports uses seventy-six percent less water to produce than conventional cotton and requires no toxic pesticides.

The brand offsets carbon dioxide emissions from freight and customer shipments. Rather than reselling returned bedding—which cannot legally be sold once opened—Buffy encourages customers to donate unwanted products for a refund. All recycled polyester fill carries either Global Recycling Standard or Recycled Claims Standard certification, and packaging boxes are made from FSC-certified recycled materials. The company is working toward a closed-loop system in which all materials are natural, recycled, or recyclable, and products are designed for durability and responsible end-of-life disposal.
